We provide high quality guided wade and drift boat trips on over twenty
rivers and streams in Southwestern Ontario, many within 1 hours driving
distance of Toronto.
All trips are a maximum of two anglers per guide. Larger groups can be accommodated.
All fishing tackle provided.
- Resident Trout Wade Trips (May through September) Enjoy
the solitude of Ontario’s finest brook, brown and rainbow trout
streams and rivers, including the world famous Grand River tailwater
fishery, where big brown trout up to 28” on dry flies are common.
We have consistent spinner hatches all summer long.
- Resident Trout Drift Boat Trips (May through September) Drift
quietly down stream while casting to large brown and rainbow trout
from a custom-built McKenzie style drift boat. You will spend a minimum
of 8 hours fly-fishing one of in southwestern Ontario’s quality
trout rivers. Both dry fly and indicator-nymphing techniques are
used. This is an ideal trip for anglers of all skill levels.
- Bass, Pike and Muskie Drift Boat Trips (June through September)
When the rivers warm up, the best fly fishing in Ontario is just
getting started. Hook up to 40 Smallmouth Bass per day averaging
3-4 lbs, with some topping 6 lbs! Cast deceivers and poppers to shore
cover for Pike and the elusive Muskellunge. Southern Ontario is the
best place on the planet to target and consistently catch muskie
on the fly. Ken has guided clients to fly caught muskies up to 23
lbs. This is another great trip that anglers of all skill levels
will find both challenging and rewarding.
- Salmon and Steelhead wade trips (March through December) Fly-fish
one of the many Southwestern Ontario rivers supporting substantial
runs of salmon and steelhead. Immerse yourself in the most traditional
of fly fishing adventures. These fish are big and strong. A 30” salmon
or steelhead can pull the line off of your reel at an amazing rate.
This is a great adventure for reasonably fit anglers with moderate
to advanced casting skills.
- Salmon and Steelhead Drift Boat Trips (March through December) Drift
some of the most pristine rivers in Southwestern Ontario for these
leaping silver bullets. Salmon to 20 lbs and steelhead to 15 lbs
are regularly hooked. Enjoy a hot shore lunch to warm you up and
renew your energy. This trip is a fine option for anglers of all
skill levels that want the adventure fly-fishing for these hard-fighting
aerial acrobats while staying warm and dry in the comfort of our
custom built drift boat.
- New for 2007: Overnight Drift Boat Trips (June through September) The ultimate Steelhead, Bass and Muskie adventure!
Two day drift boat adventures on the Saugeen, Maitland and Grand Rivers. Camp on the banks of the river or stay at a local B&B.
The Hexagenia hatch/spinner fall on the Saugeen River and Grand River occur at dusk. The very best hatches occur in sections
of the rivers that can only be drifted with an overnight trip. Camping on the banks of the rivers ensures we will be in
the best locations at prime time to hit a magnificent Hex spinner fall for Smallmouth or Hendrickson hatches for drop back
Steelhead. The trip includes: two full days guided fishing covering 20-30 kms of river,tent and sleeping pads for 2 (sleeping bags required),
2 lunches, 1 dinner and a hearty breakfast, flies and gear, and digital photos. Video diaries are also available.
- Carp: Ontario’s Bonefish (May and June) Maybe
not as pretty as a bonefish, but every bit the challenge. Wade Lake
Huron tributaries, scanning for tails of huge carp feeding
on the flats. Sight cast to 20 lbs or more of pure muscle that can pull
like a tractor! Highly recommended for experienced anglers looking
to step up to the ultimate fly-fishing challenge in Ontario waters.
